Accessibility Policy

Education Buying Group Ltd is committed to being an organisation which is accessible to all. We will endeavour to take every opportunity to make our services as simple and user-friendly as possible, as well as taking every step necessary to comply with all legislation, including but not limited to the Equality Act 2010, and Government guidance relating to accessibility, such as “Understanding accessibility requirements for public sector bodies” published by the Central Digital and Data Office.

Education Buying Group Ltd recognise the important role public organisations and websites have in providing an accessible service to the public, especially to those who have a long-term illness, impairment or permanent or temporary disability.

It is partly because of Education Buying Group Ltd.’s desire to be an accessible organisation that the main channel to the public we have is our website. Advances in technology and large-scale Internet access in the UK have made a website the simplest and most accessible way for the public, especially those with illness, impairment, or disability, to interact with many public organisations, including Education Buying Group Ltd. This is why we have built our website in a very straight forward and accessible format, and we will endeavour to maintain this standard. For example, the front-end of the website is built using HyperText Markup Language (HTML), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and JavaScript (where applicable). This method of building websites is common practice and is usable across most browsers and devices, making more accessible for the general public than a less commonplace interface design. Further examples of how Education Buying Group Ltd shall maintain accessibility for those with impairments and disabilities are the way we use images and design on our website. Images uploaded to the website contain an ALT-tag or ‘Title’ tag. These provide a brief textual description of the image and can be picked up by Screen Reading software to narrate the contents of the web page. This makes the website more accessible for those with visual impairments who may rely on their hearing more than their sight.

Education Buying Group Ltd recognise the added importance of maintaining accessibility due to our role in the Education Sector. We will endeavour to fulfil our responsibility in this area in all actions and decisions we take.
